Durant, Yvonne Rose Theresa, age
80, of Pomquet, Antigonish County passed away on May 14, 2022, in St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Antigonish, she was a
daughter of the late George and Margaret (Benoit)
Rennie.
Yvonne worked in the restaurant
at the Claymore Inn for roughly 15 years, and she also worked for
several people in the Antigonish area as a homecare worker. Yvonne
enjoyed watching hockey (especially the Canadiens), bird watching
(especially hummingbirds), and her scratch tickets, and she always
looked forward to the flowers in the springtime.
She is survived by her children,
Martin (Darlene), Dunmore; Maurice, Pomquet; Estell (Michael) Boyd,
Lakevale; Raymond (Lynn), Lakevale; Maureen, Antigonish; Noella (Joe)
Boyd, Belnan; Dwayne (Linda), Pomquet; and Paul (Katherine), Meadow
Green; grandchildren, Aaron, Raylene, Brandon, Logan, Dylan, Ryan,
Amy, Kayla, Kylie, Georgia, Ava, Alexis, and Annie; her brother,
Alfred Rennie; and her sister, Marie Doiron.
Predeceased by her husband,
Linus; sisters, Laura, Betty, Margaret, and Gina; and her brother,
Raymond.
Visitation will be held Tuesday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held
Wednesday at 11:00am in Ste. Croix Church, Pomquet, with Reverend
Andrew Gillies presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery.
