Yvette Samuel Doucet 1928 2022

Obituary of Yvette Samuel Doucet
It is with great sadness we announce the death of Madame Yvette Doucet (nee Samuel), the matriarch of our family, at the Foyer Richelieu on August 1, 2022, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of Leopold Doucet (2006). Cherished mother of Madone Marquis (Gaetan), Yvon Doucet (Carole), Jacques Doucet, Raegent Doucet (Kim), and Annette Jones (Gerry). She will be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Normand Samuel, Victor Samuel, Georgette Fontaine, and Therese Martini. Predeceased by her parents Paul-Emile and Laurette (nee Coursol) and her siblings; Edna Lehoux, Jeanette Tardif, and Leo Samuel.
Our mother had a life filled with happiness and pride, surrounded by her family and extended family. Her joy of cooking a great meal to share, for all to enjoy. She always had the open-door policy. She was also a very talented knitter. She always took pride as she did her intricate projects. She was also well known for her slippers. Even during her stay at the Foyer Richelieu, she could be seen knitting away in the atrium and her lazyboy. She provided warmth, comfort, and pleasure to all who wore them.
The family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Eglise du Sacre Coeur on Saturday, August 6, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, donations to Fonds Foyer Richelieu would be appreciated by the family.
