Obituary
Yvette Germaine Ryder
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Yvette Germaine Ryder (Zastre) on March 16, 2022. She was 90 years old and a resident of the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home in Ste. Rose du Lac at the time of her passing.
Yvette was born in the old Ste. Rose Hospital on February 13, 1932. She spent her entire life in the village of Ste Rose and experienced many changes in her community over her life time.
In her younger years, Yvette was very active in the community being involved with 4H, Ste. Rose Health Auxiliary and the skating rink committee. She and Bill spent countless hours volunteering at the skating rink. If you asked Yvette she would say that “my children were practically raised at the rink”.
She loved her ever growing family and her favorite time of year was Christmas as she looked forward to getting together with her family. Earlier on she loved to host Christmas dinner and prepared an abundance of food along with an amazing selection of desserts.
Family was the most important part of Yvette’s life and being a parent and grandparent brought so much joy to her life. She was always available to go and stay or help in any way with her grandchildren whenever their parents needed help.
Yvette was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Victoria Zastre (nee Soens) and her husband of 65 years William Ryder.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories; her children Alex (Theresa), Rick (Suzanne), Donna (Denis Parthenay), and Debbie (Alan) Pinette along with her twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren as well as great great grandchildren. Her family now mourn our special Mom, Grandmother and Super-Gran.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will take place at a future date.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, please consider making a donation in memory of Yvette to the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home or to a charity of your own choice.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home for their genuine care and comfort to Yvette during her stay with them.

  1. Very sad news to hear of Aunt Yvette’s passing. I remember her visiting my Grandma’s house and the games of crib they’d get into in her kitchen. She was a wonderful woman. Deepest sympathies to everyone.
