YURY ALEXANDER PUGATCH
Yury was born December 11, 1966 to Luda Musevych. He grew up Toronto and was educated in the public school system there. He found employment in grounds keeping on some of the golf courses around the area and really enjoyed that work.
Because his mother worked for Air Canada he was able to make several trips to Aruba and always had a desire to go back there again.
When he found it difficult to live alone he moved in with his Grandad (Boris Pugatch) and Step grandmother Maria. He had a great respect for his grand parents. He accompanied Maria to the Ukraine several times to visit her family there. He learned to speak their language and they accepted him as one of their own. Had it not been for his medical condition he would have loved to have moved there for life.
When Maria moved back to the Ukraine Yury moved to the Country Meadows Retirement Home in Brunner where he also made many friends and was also accepted as part of the Sunrise congregation.
Maria taught Yury to trust the Lord for his salvation which he professed to the end. Just a few days before he died he said “ I have not always been a good man but I believe that Jesus died for my sins.”
Yury was a very thankful person and also very generous. He loved to give gifts wherever he had a chance.
He peacefully passed away June 25, 2022 at the Stratford General hospital from several health complications. He reached the age of 55 yrs.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Step grandma Maria and Uncle Walter.
He leaves to morn his mother of Toronto, Uncle Bill & family from Stinka Ukraine and Uncle Walter’s family of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. Plus a host of friends that learned to love him
A special thank you to the staff, nurses and doctors at the Stratford General Hospital and Country Meadows Nursing Home, Brunner, for the compassionate and kind care shown to Yury in his time there.
