Welner, Winston “Winnie” C. – Age 80, of Enfield, passed away May 7, 2022 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
Born in Mount Uniacke in 1941, he was a son of the late Roland and Lucy Welner.
Winnie is survived by his wife, Janette Welner; daughter, Gina (Bruce) Thompson; and grandson, Tyler; as well as sister, Violet Churchill.
Besides his parents, Winnie was predeceased by sisters, Betty Welner and Mildred Finck; and brothers, Allison, Lawrence, Ross, Rodney and Carol.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing both hockey and baseball. He also liked playing darts, bowling and was an avid pool player. His passion though was hunting and fishing and being with his buddies at the camp at Allen’s Lake.
Winnie was a devoted family man who enjoyed working with his hands. He started off in the carpentry trade and ended his working career as a licensed mechanic.
At the family’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
