Margaret Winnifred ‘Winnie’ (Whetham) Detweiler passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Palmerston Hospital on Saturday, September 10th, 2022. Born on February 17th, 1935 in Minto Township, Winnie Detweiler of Palmerston died at the age of 87.
Dearly loved wife of the late Elroy Detweiler, and mother of Michael Detweiler and his wife Jennifer, and Kelly Barfoot and her husband Jeffrey. She was predeceased by her daughter Kymberly Brunner. Adoring grandmother to 5; Cassi, Maggi, Kati, Emma, and Hannah, and to 8 great-grandchildren.
Winnie is survived by her sisters, Ruby Wick of Listowel, and Merle Keller of Kitchener, and brothers Harold Whetham of Mount Forest, George Whetham of Harriston, and Percy Caudle of Listowel. She will be missed by her dear friends, neighbours and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Hal and Caroline (Noble) Whetham, brothers Floyd Whetham, and Calvin Whetham, and sister Donna Hymers.
The memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 780 Elizabeth St. W., Listowel on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Palmerston Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Palmerston & District Hospital or Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
