Winnie’s Obituary
Winnie B Marshall (Lutz)
has left us to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Our dear and precious mother was born in the summer of 1922, she let go of life on January 11, 2022. Six months short of her 100th birthday. She left her home in the valley to marry her beloved Justin, to settle and raise their family in Danvers, NS. She added daily to the things she learned to do; from the chores on their farm, to quilting masterpieces that were often given away to people who were kind to her, to making Rappie Pie. She could crochet and knitted oodles of socks and mittens for charities and family. She was a member of the Southville Church of Christ, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Historical Society. She lived her entire life caring for others, her door and her heart always open to family, friends and visitors.
She was so proud of her children, and grandchildren and they were so very proud and protective of her. Every Sunday, her “babies” would gather at her home after Sunday service, to share in her home-made deliciousness, until the torch was recently passed to the kids. She was the glue that kept the family together.
My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word. Psalm 119:28
She was predeceased by her dear Justin in 1975, her cherished daughter Edna May in 1980, her grandson Kenneth, her parents Manford and Jenny, and brothers Ford and Ronald, as well as Gordon and Arnold who died in infancy. She had to learn to breathe again each time one passed.
She is survived by her son Gordon (Verna) Marshall, daughters Elaine (Hazen) Height, and Patricia (Greg) Maher, and foster daughter Bernice White; grandchildren, Elissa (Tim), Justina (Isaac), Lydia (Don), Lauren (Carmen), Pamela (Nick), Christine (Russell) and Charlene; several great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Lutz.
The immediate family will be holding a private ceremony at this time due to Covid gathering restrictions. A funeral service, for immediate family only, will take place in Southville Church of Christ, Southville with Mr. Lou Outhouse officiating. Interment will be in Southville Cemetery. Our intention is to have a Celebration of our mother’s life once we are free to do so. For those unable to attend the funeral service, a video recording of the service will be available on the funeral home website below the full text of her obituary after 12 p.m., Wednesday, January 18.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
