THOMPSON, William Stirling -77, of River John passed away July 12, 2022 in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Billy fished, worked at the Steel Mill and for many years worked in sales and distribution where everyone knew the familiar “you’re in” or “yup” after knocking. He loved hearing the day to day gossip from everyone, playing card games and soaking up the sun while relaxing at the picnic table, having a few drinks and a laugh. He was the son of, Marjorie Beatrice Thompson and chosen son of, Jessie and James Thompson; brother to, Edna, John, Seward, Chester, Percy, Lloyd, Frances MacLean, Christine and Darlene; father of, Tammy (Tommy), Shawn (Cathy), Mike (Geri), Billy Joe (Natalie) Doucette, Alfed Doucette, Randy (Vicki) Cavanaugh; grandchildren, Amber, Logan, Brooklynn, Brody, Sarah, Dean, Christian, Mikayla, Kurtis, Paige and his companion, Buddy. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8PM in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. A graveside service will take place Monday at 4PM in Belleview Cemetery, River John with Rev. Connie McNamara officiating.
