Obituary of William John Marshall
William John “Bill” Marshall, 86, Northumberland Veterans Unit, Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Ada Amelia (Shephard) Marshall. Bill served with the Canadian Armed Forces, at home and abroad. Upon discharge, Bill, worked in youth homes and in security. Bill was a member the Masonic Lodge, having served as Master of several lodges in Pictou County. He was a member of the Pictou County Shrine Club. He will be dearly missed by those he loved.
Surviving are his son, Dana (Martin), St. Jacobs, Ont.; step-daughter, Roxanne Schott, Elmira, Ont.; step-son, Wayne (Audrey) McKellar, Darlings Island, N.B.; sisters, Daisy Dunphy, Wales; Ruth Kent, Eastern Passage; Camilla Marshall, New Glasgow; many grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his partner, Greta Green; daughter, Angela Ann “Angel”; brothers-in-law, Michael Dunphy and Bryce Kent
A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mr. Sander Burke officiating.
Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to Hobo Haven Pet Rescue.
