Obituary of William Herbert Brown
William Herbert (Herb) Brown 1929 -2022
Born in Motherwell, Ontario, Herb was the son of the late J. Wilson and Carribel Brown. Herb was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Marjorie Joyce (Haynes) Brown. Herb was raised in Motherwell where he farmed all his life. He also ran his own local and long-distance Livestock Trucking business for many years, calling Motherwell home base. In earlier years, he worked alongside his father Wilson performing custom farm work for many of their neighbours.
Herb was a great cattle enthusiast and maintained his interest in the cattle sector to the end. He also loved old tractors, machinery, and old cars. He valued his friends and enjoyed his coffee time catching up on all the news.
Father of Gord (Joanne) Brown and Steve d.2019 (Yvonne) Brown. Grandfather of Wilson (Tammy) Brown, Sherry Lynn (Mike) Pette, Jeremy (Melissa) Brown, Matt (Susie) Brown, Kerrilea Brown, Jackie (Vaughn d.2021) McEachen, Jason (Jeanette) Pentland, Jocelyn (TJ) Klopp, Jamie (Jaclyn) Pentland. Herb was Great-Grandfather to 18 Great-Grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Family and friends are invited to the ST. MARYS UNITED CHURCH, 85 Church St. S. St. Marys, on April 11, 2022 for visitation from 1pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3pm. Rev. Catherine Calkin officiating.
The family asks that all those in attendance to please wear a mask at the church.
Burial at a later date in Avonbank Cemetery.
