Obituary of William Charles Illman
William “Bill” Charles Illman, 87, native to Stratford Ontario, passed away on May 9th, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was a brilliantly talented artist. His creativity ranged from commercial art, pen and ink illustrations, pointillism, to antique restoration. Bill’s most recent passion was building classic model cars. Bill loved to bring his PT Dream Cruiser to enter into car shows and would display his most recent car creations. In addition to his artistic abilities, Bill had a true passion for hockey. He started playing at a very young age and continued to play into his 70’s, never losing his love of the sport.
This loving and caring family man is survived by his devoted partner Sherry Sawas, 4 children and their partners: Jeff and Andrea Illman, Leigh-Ann and Wayne Bennett, Michelle and Dave Moar, and Alicia Sawas and Louis Charles Cote. Bill was also a proud grandfather of 5, Rachel and Lauren Illman, and Cameron, Emily and Ethan Moar.
Bill touched the hearts of all of those around him. Bill will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Please join us on June 5th , 2022 from 2pm to 5pm, to celebrate Bill’s life and accomplishments. Keeping with Bill’s love of hockey, the celebration will be held at the Lou Jeffries Arena, 600 King St E, Gananoque, in the upstairs meeting hall.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of William
