William Waye April 25th 2022

William “Bill” James Waye
July 24, 1953- April 25, 2022
Bill was predeceased by, Parents; William James Waye and Eileen Abbott Waye, and sister Joyce Cox.
Survived by, Partner; Janet Brown (Fort. Sask, Alberta), Sons, Bradley Waye (Krystal Peyton) and Ralph Phillips. Grandchildren, Benjamin and Charlie Waye, Jett, Lyla, Kenzie and Grayson Brown. Brothers, Fred Waye (Jennie Short), Johnny Waye (Patty), Sister, Peggy M. Tremblett, as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Bill was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia but was raised in Bonavista since a very young age, and of course considered himself a true Newfoundlander. He is known for his love of being on the water, and his favourite sport; trouting. After moving to Alberta he would still travel home every year, and despite the cold weather in June, Bill got his rod ready and with his friends Pete or Les, or his son Bradley, he would travel to come place where he could successfully catch his beloved trout.
He loved to go into the woods in his earlier years to go berry picking, when he could still stoop and spend the day with his large pillowcase of blueberries and his mom, having a lunch and a cup of tea.
Bill worked on the draggers here in Newfoundland and later went to Alberta where he was employed by a company named CEDA, to which he retired from and lived with his partner Janet in Fort Sask. until his passing.
He loved his grandchildren in Alberta, Jett, Lyla, Kenzie and Grayson; whom he teased and played with quite frequently. Unfortunately he only met his brand new twin grandsons; Benjamin and Charlie from afar thanks to FaceTime. His love and caring for them were immense even before they were born.
His love for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs winning the covetous trophy “The Stanley Cup” would make him smile in heaven, let’s hope for that because even in his sickness he couldn’t be away from his beloved hockey game.
Bill’s ability to make us all smile wherever he was around and his calmness and love for life kept us all smiling and wishing for more. He was a simple person who gave so much just for being in his presence, we all loved him so very much and his passing leaves a hole in our hears.
Cremation has taken place in Fort Sask, AB, Service details in Bonavista to follow.
