TOUGH, William Isaac George
On Wednesday, June 29, the light of Jessica Nieman and David Tough’s life went out. William Isaac George Tough passed away suddenly at PRHC at the age of four.
Everyone who knows Jess and Dave felt the undeniable love they shared with William. Will was a warrior, born at 26 weeks and 5 days, weighing 490 grams, and measuring 8 inches long. Surrounded by love and the most supportive, loving, and caring parents, William grew into the most loving, caring, curious, and strong child.
William was a light in so many people’s lives. He especially loved his Grandparents – Katie and Wes Nieman, Margaret and George Tough, as well as his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins – Uncle Nate and Aunt Amanda Nieman, their two children Eric and Levi Nieman, Aunt Adrienne Nieman, Aunt Liz Tough, Uncle Gord Tough and Aunt Mary Harmer and their two children Georgia and Jessa Tough Harmer. He also leaves behind Great Grandparents Monica Nieman (Enard Nieman) and Laurene and Andy McKee.
Dave and Jess’s community have rallied to support them since he was born so early and so tiny. He was loved by so many.
His compassion, intelligence, and humour inspired everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He loved imaginary games with his toys, creating elaborate scenes and complicated storylines, playing soccer, gymnastics and swimming especially. He was late to speak but once he started he didn’t stop. He was funny, incredibly thoughtful, compassionate and intelligent. He loved nature and hugged many trees. He loved the Muppets and Mickey Mouse and most of all he loved stories.
Please join us in remembering William with Jess and Dave and their families on Sunday, July 10th at 2 pm at Ashburnham Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough. William had a particular fondness for rainbows. Attendees are invited to wear bright colours, especially pink — his favourite!
Charitable donations can be made to Mount Sinai NICU, who saved his life when he was born, or Sick Kids Hospital, who cared for him during many follow up visits.
The dark is dreaming.
