William Robert Seabrook Wednesday January 5th 2022

SEABROOK, William Robert
Jan 12, 1924 – Jan 5, 2022
Peacefully, 1 week before his 98th Birthday at Light Haven Christian Home in Bruce Mines, with dignity he lived his life. Bert has been freed from the frailties of his 98 year old body, to spend eternity with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. With grateful hearts his family gives thanks to God for choosing us to have this faithful man to lead our family. He is now reunited with his loving wife, Betty after 13 years. Bert & Betty had been married for 65 years. Bert is the loving father of Dale (Marlene) of Calgary, Dave (Nancy) of Thessalon, Daryl (Noreen) of Sault Ste. Marie, Danny (Theresa) of Sault Ste. Marie, Carol Warren (Larry) of Cambridge, Kerry (Bonnie) of Thessalon, Paul (Dina) of Desbarats, Andy (Wendy) of Strathmore, Alberta, Julie Hall (Bob) of Pickford, Michigan and Shawn (Teresa) of Brockville. Much loved Grampa of 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Dearly loved brother of Eunice Whitfield (late Lloyd), Cora Klym (late Ed), both of Sault Ste. Marie, late Verna Ray (late Bailey), late Ethel Madsen (late Steve), late Jean Smith (late Raymond), late Bernice Ingram (late Ernest), and late Lorne Seabrook (late Colleen). Dear brother-in-law late Colleen Ray (late Lincoln), Ruth Mathewson (late Gordon), both of Sault Ste. Marie, Shirley Seabrook (Reg) of Thessalon, Val Owens (late Pauline) of Burnaby, BC, Myrla Dougherty (Fred) of Iron Bridge, late Jessie Court (late Aubrey) and late Jimmy Owens. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bert was indeed a gentleman. Bert was an active member of the Thessalon Church of Christ.
Bert kept himself very busy in his later years doing restoration work. Bert restored a 1936 Garwood mahogany boat that was named “Bert” after him. A 1936 Ford Woody Station Wagon and a 1948 Ford 8N tractor that he initially drove from the train station back to the farm in 1948. Bert was well known for his homemade lamps that he would build in his workshop and give them away as he made them. He retired from lamp building in his 97th year. All of his 10 children and 24 grandchildren proudly display their lamps in their homes.
Only God can make a Dad with such a loving heart, who cares about his children enough to guide them from the start—believing in them always, and so proud of what they do. Thank heaven there are Dads as wonderful as you!
Our legacy of faith that Dad & Mom taught us, gives us the assurance that we will see them again someday and for that, we are truly thankful…
Bert’s family want to thank the Light Haven team for the wonderful care they gave to him and an extra special thankyou to Amy from Bayshore Home Care for her care and compassion she gave to our Dad.
