À la mémoire de
William Robert Graham
29 janvier 1928 –
12 février 2022
After a long and satisfying journey, Bill (aka Roy, Papa) passed peacefully wishing to reunite with his late wife, Gwen, sons Bob (Karin) and David and other loved ones. His life is celebrated by daughter Laurie, son John (Virginia), grandkids Jacqueline (Ben), Alex (Kathleen), Greg (Stephanie), and Rachel (Mike). His seven great-grandkids, Emma, Jackson, Clare, Bryson, Connor, Zoe and Maisie, were frequent visitors via Zoom, bringing him great delight. The family is grateful to Emelie for her kindness and care of both Bill and Gwen for over 17 years and to Lilly for her great care and resourcefulness.
An entrepreneur, Bill founded Chemroy in 1967 and built an incredible team that led the specialty distributor to over fifty years of success. Bill coined and lived the tag line “Proud to be known by the company we keep,” which he inspired employees, customers and suppliers to translate in their work.
As a young immigrant from Northern Ireland, Bill sought opportunity, belonging and the ability to provide for his family. He achieved all with determination and with the help of partners and loyal employees. A lover of rugby, he and his fellow expats formed the Irish Canadian Rugby League, which continued long after his retirement. While always a proud Irishman, he was an even prouder Canadian.
Bill will be fondly remembered for his many loves in life – family and friendships; humour and faith; golf and travel; home and hearth. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada: www.heartandstroke.ca.
