It is with great sadness that the family of William R. MacCallum announce his passing at the Miramichi Hospital on May 17, 2022 at the age of 96. Born in Tabusintac, August 16, 1925. he was the son of Clifford and Gertrude (Robertson) MacCallum and was the last surviving member of his family.
William was a World War II veteran serving in infantry with the North Shore Regiment. He was a well-known building contractor on the Miramichi for many years. He loved hunting and fishing or just driving in the woods. He could be seen doing his find a word puzzles and always enjoyed playing scrabble or a good game of rook. Most of all he loved his family and always welcomed anyone into his home.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Evelyn (Strang), sons Ronald (Marilyn), Myles (Rebecca), Randy (Heather) and daughters Gloria (Evan Stewart), Eva (Keith Williston), Debbie (Michael) O’Regan and Joan MacCallum. He will always be Papa to his thirteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Ivan, Walter, Allan, Earl, Hiram, Leonard and Donald and by sisters Anne Collins, Martha Savoy and Eva Norris.
Visitation will take place at Davidson’s Funeral Home, Miramichi, NB on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 and funeral service on Saturday at 11. The wearing of masks inside the funeral home would be appreciated. Officiating will be by Charles O’Regan, Maxine Disher and Alana MacDonald.
Reception will follow the service. Graveside service will take place at the Tabusintac Cemetery, Old Manse Road, Tabusintac.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Poppy Fund, ongoing fund for palliative care at the Tabusintac Nursing Home or the Tabusintac Cemetery.
