It is with deep sadness that the family of the late WILLIAM ONSLO SMITH of Brookside announces his passing. Onslo passed away at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home, Grand Bank, on Wednesday, January 05th, 2022, at the age of 76.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his daughters, Barbara Power (George), Torbay, Monica Smith (Dennis Lake), Rushoon, Lorrie Smith (David Whittle), Fort McMurray, and Connie Murphy (Raphael), Fort McMurray; his son Charles, DeBolt, AB; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany (Raymond), Tymika (Daniel), Ryan (Kelsey), Isabella (Patrick), Nathan, Nicholas, Riley, Kaileigh, Jack and Hailey; 4 great grand children, Daniel, Geneva, Deacon and Marshall; brothers Calvin Smith (Diane), Brookside and Clifford Smith (Noreen), Brookside; sisters Winnifred Smith, Marystown, Grace Lockyer (Earl), Boat Harbour, and Brenda Dicks (Bill), Baine Harbour; special friend Rosie Pittman and a large number of family and friends.
Onslo was predeceased by his wife Lucy; parents William and Florence Smith; brothers Garland, Eric, and Thomas; and sisters Edith Walters, Beatrice Dunn, and Lillian Dean.
The Smith Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home on:
Monday, January 10, from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm
Due to the Alert Level 4 restrictions, this will be a walk through visitation, with one household bubble entering at a time. When entering the funeral home you will be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required to be worn at all times in the Funeral Home. Due to Covid – 19 regulations no food is permitted into the funeral home.
A private Funeral Service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Proof of vaccination and a photo ID will be required upon entering the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Brookside.
In Onslo’s memory donations may be made to the family or flowers gratefully accepted.
