William McMillan Carr Sunday July 31st 2022

Bill passed away peacefully at Lake of Bays on Sunday, July 31st, 2022, at the age of 90 (and a half!) Beloved husband for over 67 years to Rosemary (nee Cole), father to David (Michelle), Gordon (Dawna), and the late Catherine Elizabeth Paszt (Brent). Grandfather of Christie, William Dylan, Ryan, Matthew and Kelsey Carr, and to Brianna and Mikayla Paszt.
Bill was born in Toronto on October 6th, 1931, and graduated from Northern Vocational, Lawrence Park Collegiate, and the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering (1955). He was a partner at Group Eight Engineering as a mechanical designer and consultant of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for schools, universities, arenas, churches, and office buildings. Bill was very active in the community as a Cub Master for 10 years, and a Rotarian for 30 years. Rotary awarded Bill a Paul Harris Fellowship for Service Above Self. He has also been recognized by Mohawk College and the Province of Ontario. At Port Nelson United Church, he served as an Elder and Property manager. His favorite charities were Carpenter Hospice and The Canadian Cancer Society. After retirement in 2001, Bill wrote two books. The first was his Carr family history, and the second was the history of the Burlington Teen Tour Band. His daughter Cathy was in the Band for 8 years and retired as a Senior Drum Major.
The family will be having a private family service and a Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date.
