Obituary
William James Hewitt “Bill”, 69, of Pitt Meadows, traded in his tools for a shiny new set of wings when he passed peacefully from his earthly life to his heavenly one on February 7, 2022, at McKenney Creek Hospice in Maple Ridge.
Bill was born on June 25th, 1952, in Winnipeg, MB to Wallace and Mary Hewitt. He liked that his birthday was the halfway point to Christmas!
He is predeceased by his parents and survived by his wife, Jacqueline, his brother Douglas (Bev) and his sister Sharon (Mark); step-sons Robert (Tammy,) Christian (Melissa,) Daniel (Makenzie,) and Richard; nieces and nephews Michael (Taneal,) Jennifer, Daniel (Amanda,) Justin (Kristy,) Catherine (Steve,) and Corinne; his grandchildren Mason, Kallaya, Kaylee Alanna, and Hadley… and lots of grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated February 16th at 11:00 a.m. at St Luke’s Church 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge. The mass will be officiated by Father Amador Abundo. Family viewing is from 10:00 to 10:30 and viewing for friends and the congregation is from 10:30 to 10:50. The livestream option link is youtu.be/jwXYAs4sT0E
Bill will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his quick wit, his unique way with words (aka “Billisms,”) and his distinctive perspective on life (aka “Billosophy.”) He enjoyed using his knowledge in many trades to get the job done and help his family and friends.
He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
