William Ernest Kreutz September 1 1925 October 6 2022

In Loving Memory
KREUTZ, William Ernest “Ernie” ~ Second World War Veteran, quietly passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in the Veteran’s Wing at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Yarmouth on Sept 1, 1925, to the late George and Elizabeth (Smith) Kreutz. What can I say about my dad? There was nothing he couldn’t do. He had a wonderful sense of humor, played the mouth organ and piano by ear. He was in the Army during the Second World War; was a baker; joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and after retirement from the military he worked at Canex as the Produce Manager which he loved. He loved his dogs and cats and watching the birds, a lover of all animals. He was an avid golfer and long-time member of the Paragon Golf Course, was a bowler both 5 pin and 10 pin and a member of the Kingston Lions Club for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Kay; parents, George and Elizabeth; brothers, Wilfred, Harry and Terry; sisters, Chris and Netta; daughter-in-law, Wilma. Left to mourn is his son, Eric, Penhold, Alta; daughter, Tammy, Kingston; sisters, Dorothy Marsh, Patsy Wagner and Carol Horne, all of Halifax; and Betty Nicholson, PEI; granddaughter, Julia (Pierce) Bowie; great granddaughters, Veda and Juniper, Duncan, B.C. As per dad’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. We would like to thank everyone on the Veteran’s Wing for their wonderful and compassionate care that they gave to our father over the past two years, you are the best. Donations in memory may be made to the Veterans Wing or the Kings Co. SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Hero
You held my hand when I was small,
You caught me when I fell.
You are the hero of my childhood
And my later years as well.
And every time I think of you
My heart still fills with pride,
Though I will always miss you, Dad
I know you’re by my side.
In laughter and in sorrow
In sunshine and in rain,
I know you’re watching over me,
Until we meet again.
