Obituary of William “Billy” MacNeil, Glace Bay
It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of William “Billy” MacNeil, age 64 on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Walter & Margaret (MacLeod) MacNeil.
Billy was a coal miner with Devco. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time at his cabin. Billy had a great sense of humour.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Taylor) MacNeil, one daughter, Tonya, two sons, Cory and Terry, one sister, Linda (Kirk), two brothers, Tony (Linda), J.B. (Michelle) and his four grandchildren, Tyler, Audrina, Shantelle and Deanna whom he adored. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by several siblings.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay with Fr. Duaine Devereaux presiding.
