William Bill Wilson Saturday September 17th 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William (Bill) Wilson on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Saint Luke’s Place, Cambridge, Ontario. Born in 1936 in Toronto, Ontario, Bill’s world was his family – his loving wife of 65 years, Irma (Lewis) Wilson; his three children who were his lifelong friends, Craig (Marsha), Jeff (Jeanette) and Lorie (Paul) and his cherished grandchildren Rebecca, Andrew, Lauren, Amanda, Alexa and Jayson.
Bill had an illustrious career with the Canadian National Railway, where he retired as the Director, Labour Relations. Post retirement he used his years well, travelling with Irma to far off lands of interest and spending quality family time at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golf and curling but nothing could compare to his time on the water, fishing with his boys.
Cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Bill’s Life is planned. Our thanks to Lounsbury Funeral Home for assisting during this difficult time. A huge thank you to the staff and team at Saint Luke’s Place for their care and compassion. In remembrance of Bill’s life, the family asks that any charitable donation be made to the “Welcome Home Capital Campaign” at Saint Luke’s Place.
