William Bill Ruben Taylor 2022

Obituary
William “Bill” Ruben Taylor
1927 – 2022
William “Bill” Ruben Taylor of Napan Bay, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, Jan 13, 2022, at the age of 94.
Bill was born in Napan Bay, New Brunswick, on June 20, 1927. He was the son of Alfred and Emma (Wood) Taylor.
In his earlier years, he was a Fisherman, a Farmer, and a Carpenter, where he worked on many projects, just to name a couple: The Miramichi Senior Citizens Home and The Centennial Bridge. Bill also worked many years for Diamond Construction, where he was a Foreman and worked as a Seasonal Worker, leaving him time to use his carpentry skills. Most of his carpentry jobs were of a private nature. He built numerous houses for people.
Bill enjoyed a game of cards, and until we were all faced with COVID-19, he and Pat attended at least four card parties a week. Bill attended Carmel United church regularly as long as he was able to do so.
Bill had an exceptional memory and always took the time to share stories of when he was younger, and to share names of community members and their families who had passed away. It was not uncommon for a neighbor to drop in to see if Bill could help them trace their roots, and he usually could.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Pat (Foran) Taylor; his daughters: Patsy Sheasgreen (Harvey) of Sunny Corner and Carolyn McLenaghan (Scott) of Napan; his son, Rick Taylor (Muriel) of Moncton; daughter-in-law, Roberta Taylor of Napan; nine grandchildren: Chris, Stephanie, Shawn, Dianna, Melanie, Melissa, Grant, Troy and Tyler, 18 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill is also remembered by step-daughters: Marian (Treusch) of Newcastle, Joyce Galliah (Joe) of Newcastle, Anne Savage (Kevin) of Derby, Norma MacLean (Rick) of Douglastown, Karen Malley (Rodney) of Russellville, Pauline Taylor (Vernon) of Bartibog; step-sons: Danny Foran (Jocelyn) of Bartibog and Donnie Foran (Irene) of Bartibog; as well as 23 step-grandchildren; 44 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-great- grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his first wife, Marion Taylor (2005); his son, Elwin “Ellie” Taylor (2017); three sisters: Marjorie Lutes, Verne Glendenning, and Ina Loggie; and three brothers: Roland, Ira, and Orville.
A funeral service occured at Carmel United Church, Napan on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 1 PM, with The Reverend David Allan, and The Reverend Father John Fraser as Officiants. Music for the service was provided by: Pianist, Barb Somers; Soloist, Al Fraser; and the Joint Loggieville-Black River Pastoral Charge Choir.
