  1. His middle name, Aloysius, means “famous warrior,” and it is very fitting for him. He never gave up and kept going until the end. I had the blessing of being able to spend a lot of time with him over the past few years, and was fortunate enough to be able to say goodbye a few weekends ago. He was tired all day, but the moment I said my goodbyes and I love you, he was filled with energy and looked more alive than I had seen in years. Thank you Grandpa for bringing light into my life and for loving me the way you did. I will be forever grateful and appreciative of you. You will be greatly missed but remembered eternally.
