Obituary
It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of Bill. He passed away suddenly, after a brief hospitalization early in the morning on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was an amazing, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend to so many. He was born in Iron Springs on the family farm, moving to Lethbridge in his teens, then eventually on to Calgary in the late 1950s. He married his sweetheart Isabel on August 17, 1957, in Lethbridge, AB.
Bill was a jack of all trades starting out in TV repairs, then moving on to auto mechanic with the old Volvo Dealer in Calgary, then McKay Pontiac Buick before eventually apprenticing and becoming a heavy-duty diesel mechanic with Western Mack Trucks, then opening his own shop (Bill Powell’s Truck Repairs), then moving on to Freightliner of Calgary. He was also very active with the Crossroads Community coaching hockey, baseball, and more. He and Isabel spent their free time carting their sons, and lots of kids, to all sorts of sports. Camping with friends and family was also very important to Bill. In the latter years, he made every effort to be at the grandchildren’s events. Bill was always there to give everyone a helping hand with their vehicles and opening his home to family who needed help and love. He was a true hero.
Bill leaves behind his beloved wife Isabel Powell (née Lorencz); sons Brent (Karen) Powell and Darwin Powell; grandchildren Brittany Powell (Thomas), Sheldon Powell (Alicia), Shane Beckerleg (Robyn), James Beckerleg, and Candace Stevenson; 9 great-grandchildren Brodi, Lucas, Preston, Silas, Rowan, Jaxon, Cullen, Ashlyn, and Sullie; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Big Hall at Country Lane Estates RV (370165 79 St E Aldersyde AB T0L 0A0).
It is just south of Calgary and Okotoks off the #2.
