Wilcox, Lenora May ‘Nora’

Nora passed away peacefully at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood in her 97th year on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 with family by her side. She was a caring and feisty lady who kept everyone on their toes right up until the very end.
Nora will be reunited with her two loving husbands, Bernard ‘Bud’ Harris of 51 years and Lloyd Wilcox of 20 years, her daughter Lynda Moore (1984), son-in-law Michael McCauley (2020) and step-son Brian Wilcox (2019) who predeceased her.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her daughter Janice McCauley, son-in-law Wally Moore and step-children Brenda Taylor and Brad Wilcox.
Nora was a strong matriarch, who found purpose in nurturing her family and friends. Her compassion and spirit were inspirational not only to her grandchildren Brad, Tracy, Darryl, Maureen, Therese and Shawna, but also to her eleven great-grandchildren. Throughout her 96 years, Nora’s life intertwined with many other extended families including step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren numbering in the 50’s. Her resilience and spirit lives on through the generations she has influenced.
Nora will be remembered in the community as a long time manager at DC Taylor Jewellers in Meaford, as well as her years of community service at the Meaford Hospital Auxiliary, Kiwanis Midas Mart, and the Meaford Hall.
For those whose lives Nora touched, a public visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 10 until 12 noon at the Meaford United Church. Masks are mandatory and we ask that all Covid-19 rules and restrictions are respected to keep everybody safe.
Nora will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford following a private family service commemorating her life.
