Obituary
Gwendolyn (Wendy) Smythe. The family of Wendy Jane Smythe of Oromocto, NB, sadly wishes to announce her sudden but peaceful passing on April 22, 2022. Wendy was born in Fredericton, NB. on August 27 1953, to the late Virginia (White) and Ronald Tracy. She was the loving and patient wife of Douglas Smythe for over 40 years.
Along with her husband, Wendy is survived by three daughters; Staci (Andy Steinhaus) Smythe, Shyanne (Troy) McWilliams and Dawn (Paul) Vanwart, two sons; Ryan (Marie-Michele Desbiens) and Chris (Nicole) Smythe, her sister Joy (Stan) Hunter, nephews Derek (Sandra) Hunter and Mark (Laura) Hunter, 10 grandchildren; Sarah, Sydney, Thomas, Lauren, Jake, Aaron, Alyssa, Miles, Carter, and Loghan and great granddaughter, Brynlee, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Wendy was a kind, thoughtful and happy person. Anyone that knew Wendy, appreciated her positive and happy spirit. She loved her family and was heart broken that she would miss watching all the grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up! Wendy worked as a secretary for Base Supply at Base Gagetown for over 39 years.
As per Wendy’s wishes there will be a private family service at a later date.
Donations can be made to Meals on Wheels Oromocto where Wendy was a long time volunteer.
