Wendy was born in Matsqui on August 16th, 1942 and passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2022. She was raised in Dewdney, B.C. While working in Vancouver as a waitress she met and married Rod Burke. The young couple moved to Enderby in 1967 where their family grew to include 4 children.
Wendy was a very busy wife, mother and community member. She was a lady of many talents, some of which include; secretary of Rod’s Repair and Towing, Mary Kay consultant, president of the Enderby Figure Skating Club, sewing, knitting, baking and so much more. Those of us who had the pleasure of knowing Wendy will miss her loving, gentle soul, her laughter and of course her love of music.
Wendy was predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Harry Stowards, sister, Shirley and husband, Rod. She leaves behind their 4 children; Michele (Victor), Sheila (Wade), Ted and Karen (Russell) grandchildren; Camille (Randy), Candace (Orey), Elisha (Tyler), Kaylee, Jag, William, Kristin (Jon), Ethan, Hannah and Antonio, great grandchildren; Evan, Natalie, Elena, Adaline and Damon, siblings; Walter (Judy), Terry (Judy), Sharon (Andy), Wayne (Lori), Leonard (Jacqui), Lynn (Lyle) and Robert (Tina), (great) nieces, (great) nephews, friends, neighbours and many community members.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all those at Hillside Village who patiently and compassionately cared for her.
A memorial service will be held at the Enderby Cemetery on May 15th at 11:00 am followed by a tea at the Lions Club Gazebo Enderby.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Wendy Elizabeth Burke nee Crandlemire May 4th 2022..
