“Wendell” Gerard Toombs
1949-2022
The death occurred at the Garden Home on Sunday, September
25, 2022 of Wendell G. Toombs of Charlottetown. Dearly loved husband
of Pauline (Monaghan) Toombs for over forty years. Loving father of
Kelley (Hesh) Toombs of Scarborough, ON, and Caitlan Toombs of
Toronto, ON. Wendell will be lovingly missed by his brothers, sisters,
sister-in-law and brother-in-law Billy (deceased), Peter (deceased),
Eddie of Stayner, ON, Eric (Dale), Bernie (Vince) Carragher, Patricia,
Ruth (late Kevin) Morris, Ebbie, Joey (Paula), Harry (Cathy), John
(Dodie), Everett (Theresa) and Lorraine (Monaghan) Clements (Fred),
all of Charlottetown.
Wendell will be missed by many
nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his two fur babies, Ginger and
Honey.
Wendell was predeceased by his mother and father, Everett and
Helen (Hughes) Toombs and by his mother and father-in-law, Linus and
Lauretta (Murphy) Monaghan and his nephew Andrew
Carragher.
There will be no wake by personal request.
Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home
where the funeral will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel on
Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the PEI Humane Society or to a charity of
your choice.
Interment later. Acelebration of
life will be held at a later date.
At this
time Pauline, Kelley and Caitlan wish to thank the staff of Maple View
for the excellent care given to Wendell and the kindness to his family
during his difficult journey through dementia. Dementia really is
“The Long Goodbye”.
