PIERCE, Wayne Frederick, of Millsville, NS – Born July 27, 1949, in Oakville, Ontario, passed away December 16 2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Wayne was a son of the late William D’Arcy Pierce and Kathleen Violet Pierce (Stallard). He was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Bremner and survived by his spouse, Glenna McLees; son, Andrew Pierce; daughter, Lisa Conway (nee Pierce); grandson, Johnathan Pierce; granddaughter, Sara Conway; brothers, John (Barb), Terry; sister, Marilyn Watson and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was a beloved father, spouse and friend. He worked with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Horticultural Research Institute of Ontario, Simcoe for 24 yrs and retired as Executive Assistant with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Queens Park, Toronto after 5 yrs of service. He was actively involved in politics, running NDP campaigns and was a provincial candidate for Haldimand Norfolk in 1985 and municipal candidate in 1988, OFL Provincial Council for 10yrs and served on the Executive Board of OPSEU for 2 terms. Wayne has been a long-term member of various Royal Canadian Legions. His passions involved nature and woodworking. After retirement he enjoyed living in his log cabin in rural Nova Scotia which was a dream of his. Cremation has taken place, Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family flowers only, donations may be made in his name to the NS SPCA or the Pictou County Food Bank.
