It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of our Dad, Wayne Glaab’s passing at 72 years of age. He fought a noble fight and was surrounded by his children and grandchildren, as he peacefully left this world, and began his journey to his eternal resting place.
Wayne was born in Welland, Ontario, to Francis and Stanley Glaab. Wayne was the youngest of their three children. Growing up in Welland Wayne attended St. Kevin’s and Notre Dame College School. When he left high school Wayne headed west to further his education at Notre Dame University/ College in Nelson British Columbia and eventually made his way to the University of Lethbridge. While attending Notre Dame University/ College he achieved a Degree in Sociology. Wayne began his studies toward a teaching degree at the University of Lethbridge. Wayne had a lifelong passion for studying war and history. This was a topic that was guaranteed to come up at all family get-togethers and celebrations. This passion was shared with his grandson Brett. His love of history was sparked by and through the stories, he would hear about the war from his father and Uncle Kenny Knisley. Both were World War II Veterans. There was guaranteed to be a spot in the family home where memorabilia and war games would and could be seen displayed.

Some notable workplaces are Nelson Homes in Lethbridge AB, Standoff Elementary School on the Kainai Reserve in Southern Alberta, Napi Lodge Treatment Centre in Lethbridge AB, University of Lethbridge Maintenance Department, Renfrew Recovery Centre in Calgary AB, and from Calgary he moved the whole family to Grande Prairie where he worked for AADAC (Northern Addictions center), and lastly, he spent his later days working a variety of departments at Walmart.
