Wayne Julian Hand
January 3, 1937 – October 28, 2022
Wayne’s passed peacefully surrounded by his family. He fought the good fight to stay with us, but his body was too tired.
Wayne is survived by his wife Arlene Hand of Kamloops, BC, His son Dwayne Hand of Toronto, Ontario, His daughters Sandie Phillips of Barrier, BC, Vickie Douglas and her husband Jim Douglas of Kamloops, BC and son Keith Hand and his wife Nicole Hand of Maple Ridge, BC.
Wayne was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His brother Dail Hand and sister-in-law Pauline Hand of Sudbury Ontario. Wayne had many nieces and nephews, and he would follow their lives on Facebook.
Wayne was predeceased by his mother Chris Hand and father Bud Hand of Maple Ridge, BC
Wayne was retired for many years from CPR, Canadian Pacific Railway where he was an engineer.
Wayne lived his life dedicated to his wife, children and pets. He had a wicked sense of humour and great big belly laugh when he thought something was funny. He loved to travel and explore the world and see how others lived.
Wayne requested that there not be a service for him. He asked me to flush him down the toilet so he could make his way to the ocean, needless to say, I’m not going to do that!
We will however take him on a boat ride in the spring and release his ashes that way.
