Obituary
Born April 27, 1940 in BlackVille, NB. Passed away February 27, 2022 in Pointe Verte, NB at Joanne Nursing home at the age of 81.
Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Janet Clair Guitard Hachey; 3 daughters Roxanne Schaffer (Murray) Rhonda Hachey and Michelle Stewart all of White Court Alberta; stepson Peter Blair (Stacey) of Airdrie Alberta; 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Stone and Jamison and Little Kendra; one stepsister Lois (Porter); brother Ronnie (Heather) of Miramichi; sister in law Dale Ann (Paul) Leblanc, Susan Guitard (Dale); Brother in laws Collin Guitard, Floyd (Linda) Guitard. Several nieces and nephews and special friend Derick Knowles (Lorraine) of Petit Rocher and Jimmy Ross (Linda) of Illinois USA.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Leo and Lillian (Underhill) Hachey of BlackVille NB and by his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Wayne was a musician his first appearance on stage was at the age of 10. It was life long love affair with music. At the age of 17 he joined the band called the Arrows, after moving to Fredericton he played in the NB College and University circuit with Beau Hunk, Rocky Mountain Rangers and Al Sherwood’s York Country boys. He was a regular on the Earl Mitton’s weekly CBC radio show and then joined Jim and Jessie’s Maritime Touring Band. His last preformance was in Victoria Corner, NB at a gospel concert in 2020. He was inducted in to the NB Hall of Fame in 20020.
A funeral service in BlackVille, NB will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
