LAIN, Wayne Frederick – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 at the Belleville General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Linda and the cherished dad of Mike (Mel), Jeff (Alicia), and Sharon Berard (Devin). He was adored by his 7 grandchildren Ethan, Chloe, Ellis, Lucas, Maxwell, Adam, and Barrett. Wayne was predeceased by his mom and dad Ross and Marg Lain and his sister Sandra. He leaves behind his sister Linda Grills (Fred). Wayne was a founding member of Ivanhoe Children’s Softball and a founding member of Centre Hastings People Helping People. He served on Stirling Minor Hockey and coached several teams in both hockey and ball over the years. His most cherished accomplishment was his cheesemaking career. He worked in cheese manufacturing for 37 years. He was the winner of several awards over the years and was able to pass his skills onto his sons. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Centre Hastings People Helping People (11337 Hwy #62, Madoc, ON K0K 2K0).
