Obituary
It is with a profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Wayne Dinn shares the news of his passing on August 31, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
In the company of family, Wayne has left this world and journeyed with the angels into the welcoming arms of his father Paddy. During his 63 years he was a loving husband to Sharon for 42 years and devoted father to Angela, (Justin). Pre-deceased by his father Paddy, mother-in-law & father-in-law Gertrude and Ross Blackwood, brother-in-law Blaine, and brother-in-law and friend Bob Gough. Along with all of the aunts and uncles in the Dinn & Blackwood Families.
Thankful for his unwavering love and support yet broken hearted by his loss his mother Theresa, brothers Pat (Cathy), David (Gwen), Robert (Charlene); sisters Linda (Hubert), Cindy (Bob), Connie (Rick), Mary Jane (Jim) and sister-in-law Michelle (Alex) and best friend of 55 years Jose Everard.
Also broken hearted by his passing his nieces and nephews: Chris (Kelly, Sophia & Oliver), Tracy (Derek, Olivia & Matthew), Joanne, Krystal (Justin, Elizabeth & Austin), Lindsay (Gavin), Melissa, Cody (Stacey & Lucy), Lucas (Alyssa & Charlotte), Laura (Mike & Macy Jane), Chloe and Sidney, Jessica (Dylan) and Stephanie and James.
Wayne was an avid outdoors man; loving hunting and fishing and spending time at the cabin on Shoe Cove Road. Wayne was a well-known, passionate mechanic who loved being under the bonnet of a car. Working at Morris Service Station for 42 years with his brothers by choice Cy and John Morris. Wayne had a large community of friends through lifelong friendships & his work as a mechanic. They have been a god-send for him over his journey with their support. You all truly went above and beyond to help him navigate the last 16 months. We love you all beyond words.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of the H. Bliss Cancer Care Centre for the exceptional care provided to Wayne. Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Quigley, Dr. Chaudhary Ahmad and Dr. Cheryl Hurley who were instrumental to Wayne with his journey.
Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue Tuesday September 6th from 12-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds at 11 a.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation on Wayne’s behalf to the H. Bliss Cancer Care Centre.
The world was a better place with you in it; the sun will never shine as brightly now that you are gone.
