Young, Wayne Allen
Young’s Speed Shop
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wayne Allen Young, in his 85th year on Monday, December 5, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Ovla (Stata) Young; sister Marley Morrison (2011), brother-in-law Keith Morrison (2010) and great nephew Keith Morrison (2019). Survived by nephew Trevor Morrison (Patti MacDonald) and niece Shelley Aubrey (Rene). Also survived by great niece Allison Aubrey (Justin DeVries) and great nephews Andrew Aubrey and Darcy Morrison. Fondly remembered by great grandnieces Dawn and Evelyn.
Born and raised in the same house, Wayne left school after grade 10 and soon worked with his father at Youngs Speed Shop. He retired in 2016. He enjoyed talking to people, asking questions and giving his opinion. As a car guy, he enjoyed car races at Oswego and Sanair and was a volunteer for the Capital City Raceway for many years. He had been active in his church, Parkdale United for many years. He was and had great neighbours all his life. Was always up for playing and winning cards.
The family wishes to thank the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus. The nurses and staff and Wild Pine Retirement Residence, the Bayshore Wound Care nurses and special friends. He sure enjoyed people.
A memorial reception will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Words of remembrance will be held at 5:30 p.m. For those unable to attend in person the words of remembrance will be live streamed on Wayne’s tribute page at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
