Wanda Laura Gosselin April 4 1968 December 20 2022 54 Years Old

Obituary
Wanda Laura Gosselin, fought a short battle with cancer and passed away on December 20, 2022, in Winkler, MB at the age of 54 years old.
Wanda was born in Birch River, MB to Lawrence and Marion Gosselin on April 4, 1968. She then spent many of her childhood years living in Birch River where she had plenty of friends and family and attended school. She would spend time going to the lake; swimming, fishing, having cookouts with whomever was around. In the Wintertime she would hang out at the skating rink attending hockey games and cheering on the players especially cheering on her family. She was very active in community events and one year at Birch River Carnival she was crowned carnival Queen, which she was very proud of. She was always the leader in sports and always encouraged others to participate, especially when coaching the baseball team for her brother Sam who then proceeded to play for the Manitoba Provincials. Wanda would take him to all his practices and all his games and tournaments; usually, cheering loudly from the sidelines. Wanda was also very happy to have gotten to coach her grandson Trenton’s team this past summer, which was on her bucket list as well.
Wanda liked to travel and lived in many different places from Brandon, Yorkton, Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Winkler, plus many others. She would open her home to family and friends; she always had tea or coffee on, or if she didn’t, she would chit chat while making some and preparing snacks to go with it. She loved planning gatherings; for example, Bellsite Cemetery Cleanup where she invited everyone, and it would turn out to be a great time with laughter and food. She planned trips with friends and family one of her favorites was her trip to Nashville, TN as she loved country music – especially George Jones. She enjoyed listening to her mother-in-law Bev Bear or her cousins Ray, Joey, and Robbie Brass sing a tune or two. She would two-step with Elaine or polka with her brother Chig all over the dance floor.
Wanda started her career working with family. Her first position was driving for Gosselin Taxi, taking care of the books, and eventually progressed to manager. Wanda also worked many years on and off for Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation where she had many titles and enjoyed working alongside all the staff and community members. After her employment with WSFN she moved to Toronto, ON where she joined her husband Glen Woloshyn in his promotional business. She eventually moved to Winnipeg to care for her dad Lawrence when he became ill with cancer. Wanda remained in Winnipeg to provide Jackie and the grandchildren support as Jackie was attending College to become a Social Worker. Family is what brought her back to Manitoba, because she was such a wonderful supportive woman.
Wanda has two children Marshall & Jackie and her husband Glen. Wanda loved having her house full, therefore, she always loved to foster or become a house parent to all children. She loved: cooking, baking cleaning, and shopping for everyone. She was a social butterfly and would always meet up with her friends and family for dinners or outings of any sort. She included family in all her events and to her, family was everything.
Wanda’s pride and joy were her grandchildren whom she adored and spoiled. She would cook and bake and just be there to show her support. She loved talking crazy with the kids and hearing their come backs- which were usually sarcastic. She raised her nephew Peter Brass whom she always called “my boy.” She would get so excited to visit him when she was home.
Wanda is predeceased by her parents: Lawrence and Marion (Brass) Gosselin; stepdad: George (aka Jack) Gosselin; stepmom: Beverly (Brass) Gosselin; fiancé: Kenny Dawson; grandparents: Samuel & Helen Gosselin, and Roland & Eva Brass; brother’s: Clayton (aka Chig) Gosselin, and Samuel Gosselin; brother-in-law: Wallis Flatfoot and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
