Wanda Jewell Summers- age 78, of Mascot, TN moved to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was a charter member of Rutledge Pike Missionary Baptist Church where she formerly served as piano player. She was a skilled seamstress with a love of nature, flowers, and family. She enjoyed singing and worshipping in church, camping in the Smokies, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving and praying mother and grandmother who always had a kiss and a hug ready to give. Preceded in death by her sweetheart of 58 years, David Summers; parents, Elmer and Dicie Moore; brother, Frank Moore; sisters, Blanche, Dale, and Lela Moore, Jane Goins, and Mildred Cates; nephew, Cory Kimbrough.
Survived by sons and spouses, Mark and Veronica Summers, Steve and Cheryl Summers; grandsons, Aaron and Austin Summers; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Edna Williams, Della Mae Chandler, Ruby Foster, Wilma Poston, and Earl and Marie Trentham.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rutledge Pike Missionary Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Dustyn Copeland, Rev. Bob Zavattieri, and Rev Gary Smith officiating. The family will meet at Rutledge Pike Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday at 10:45 am for an 11:00 am burial service. Pallbearers will be Aaron Summers, Austin Summers, Brad Summers, Tyler Summers, Elisha Martin, Chastain Maples.
