Obituary
Waltraut Dimler passed away into the presence of the Lord in the early morning hours of December 11, 2022, at the age of 91 years. Wally will be remembered and sadly missed by her loving family. She is survived by her children: Marlene Beck of Prince George BC, Arleen Haiste (Dirk) of Prince George, BC, Howard Dimler (Cindy) of Temecula, California, and grandchildren: Darrell, Beverly, Julia, Ariel, Jenna, Luke, Lindsay, Megan, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Dorothy Beckman of Port Moody BC, Wilfred Klingpohn (Marie) of Kitchener ON, Elizabeth Doberstein Edmonton AB, and Ruben Klingspohn (Linda) Okanagan Falls, BC. She was sadly predeceased in 1998 by her husband of 45 years, Oscar. She was also predeceased by her son Darrell in 2010 and by her brother Erwin and sister Ruth.
Wally was born November 9, 1931, in New Sarepta, Alberta to Adolf and Martha Klingspohn who immigrated from Poland in 1928. Wally was a proud Penticton resident of more than 50 years. She retired from the Penticton Regional Hospital in 1994. Her golden years were filled with trips to spend time with family in Prince George and California. Wally loved to travel, but her most memorable trip was in 2009 to Europe with her children where she was able to visit Germany, her ancestral home, and was given the opportunity to speak her first language. Wally spent her final years in Prince George at Simon Fraser Lodge where she was under the watchful eye of her daughters.
A funeral ceremony will be held on December 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at Providence Funeral Home, 1258 Main Street, Penticton, BC with Dirk Haiste officiating. Internment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
