1959-2022
The passing of Walter Allen McDowell occurred unexpectedly at
his residence in Pennfield NB on December 21, 2022. Born in Saint John
NB on July 14, 1959, he was a son of Barbara A. (Borthwick) McDowell
and the late John “Jack” McDowell. Walter is survived by his
children: Josh Johnston (Crystal), Nathan McDowell (Jessica) and Zack
Bradley, his mother: Barbara McDowell; one brother: Barry McDowell
(Debbie Bagley); sisters: Patricia Kimball (Brian) and Jacqueline
Pendleton (Laurie); and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In
addition to his father, Jack, Walter was predeceased by one brother:
Rodney McDowell.
Walter worked in various sectors in the local area including
clamming, glass work and blueberry harvesting which he truly enjoyed
and excelled at. He was a man who loved the outdoors, especially
hunting and fishing. Walter was a social butterfly who made friends
easily and was the first to help any friend in need. He was loved and
cherished by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all
who knew him.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral
home with visiting on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 2-4 pm. A
private graveside service will be held at the Pennfield Presbyterian
Kirk Cemetery, Pennfield NB. In Walter’s memory, donations to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the
family.
