W John Taylor 1935-

W. John Taylor, of Youghall Dr., Bathurst, husband of Vina (Payne) Taylor, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday December 24, 2022, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Harold and Marion (Ellis) Taylor.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children: Helena Taylor of Bathurst, Heather Taylor-Hanna (Doug) of South Glengarry, ON and Calvin (Janice Lawrence) Taylor of Fredericton.
Three grandchildren: Finn, Meg, James and one great-grandson, Henry.
Three sisters: Phyllis Pettigrew (late Lloyd) of Halifax, NS, Patsy Maher (Bob) and Peggy Branch (late Murray) both of Bathurst.
Many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sister, Elizabeth Kingston (late Bob) from Manotick, ON.
A special thank you to Helena, who made it her mission to ensure John had the best care while he was ill.
John worked for CNR for 29 years as a heavy equipment operator, enjoyed running the rails with his CN pass from Newfoundland to British Colombia. His passions included family and farming. He will be remembered for the horse & buggy / sleigh rides and stories.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at 3 p.m. at the Point Church, 780 O’Neil Dr., Bathurst, with a reception to follow.
Donations in memory of W. John Taylor may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
