Vladimir Tomovcik of Simcoe, Ontario
January 1, 1949 – June 26, 2022
Passed away suddenly at his home in Simcoe in his 74th year. Beloved eldest son of the late Maria (2017) and Jan (1991). He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Peter, his nieces Ren (Michael) and Gabrielle, his dear friend Susan, his community of neighbours and his friends and extended family around the world. Vladimir was born in the former Czechoslovakia and emigrated to Canada with his family in 1969. He went on the graduate with a Master’s Degree from the University of Waterloo. An avid reader and constant writer, Vladimir loved words and could always be found with a notebook or crossword puzzle in hand. After retiring from a career in sales, he embarked on his much-loved second career, teaching English as a second language in South Korea for several years. He will be fondly remembered by many students as “Walter Teacher”. Vladimir will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery alongside his mother Maria. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Vladimir’s memory can be directed to an educational charity. Arrangements entrusted The Ferris Funeral Home, Simcoe (519-426-1314). Online condolences at ferrisfuneral.com.
