ONEIL, Vivyan Ann
1950 – 2022
Vivyan Ann Oneil (nee Herringshaw) of Airdrie passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the age of 71. Vivyan is lovingly remembered by her husband, Dan Oneil; daughters, Meaghan Kernaghan (David) and Laurel Oneil; granddaughters, Aidan and Reece; her father, William T. Herringshaw (Denise); her sisters, Lynne Woroniecki and Sheila Legere (Roy); sister-in-law, Barbara Herringshaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Leona Herringshaw (Reid); and brothers, William Herringshaw and Douglas Herringshaw.
Vivyan was an avid volunteer and spent many years involved with the United Church, Airdrie Ringette, Softball and many other community groups as long as her health permitted. Vivyan loved to read, quilt, and golf. She spent many enjoyable hours with friends and family at the quilting guild, book club, Woodside Golf Course and on annual trips to the Palm Desert area.
Vivyan loved having friends and family over. The house was always full of dinners, drinks, and lunches with those she loved. Her door was always open for hers and her daughters’ friends.
Special thanks to her sister Lynne for the gift of a kidney that added many years to her very full life. Thank you to the Southern Alberta Transplant Clinic, Unit 37 at the Foothills Hospital and Skypointe Hospice for making her final days as peaceful as possible.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Airdrie United Church, 212 – 1 Ave NE, Airdrie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 – 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB, T2H 0G5.
