The family of Violet Janes Roberts Green are saddened to announce her passing on October 13, 2022. Violet passed peacefully away at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville in her 85th year.
She is survived by her loving children Jo-Ann Spencer (Ellison), Junior Green (Belinda) and Gary Green (Thanie); Daughter in-law Winnie Green; Sister Sarah Payne; Grandchildren Amanda Courtney (Corey), Christopher Green (Carrie), Tara Green (Joe Dunham), Kim Young (Vernon), Joy, Tom, Will, Phil and 12 great-grandchildren plus a large circle of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Austin Green; son Edward Green; mother Amelia Dollimount; father John Roberts; sisters Gladys Slaney, May Hare and Letta Vatcher; brothers Roy Dollimount, Arch Dollimount, Claude Dollimount and Mark Dollimount.
Violet was born in Parsons Harbour, NL on April 4, 1937. She started school in Francois, NL at the age of 5. After her mother remarried, they relocated to Burgeo, NL.
She got married, raised a family and worked at Burgeo Cottage Hospital until retirement. She was a very loving, kind and caring person who offered support to anyone who needed it.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Acadian Village and the staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for the kindness and care given to her in her time of need.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life held at a later date TBA.
