Violet’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we, the family of the late Violet May Keeping (nee Walters) announce her passing at the Centennial Building at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, NS surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 20th, 2022 at the age of 72 years. Born in Burnt Islands, NL, Violet was the daughter of the late Israel and Emily Walters (nee Bryan). She was also predeceased by her husband; Chester Keeping and brother-in-law; Clifford Keeping.
Violet leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving children; Chester (Sherry) Keeping, Arthur (Tara) Keeping both of Eastern Passage, NS, grandchildren; Samantha (Weibe) Leenstra of Boundary Creek, NB, Tristan Keeping (Sara Lowe), Ethan Keeping all of Eastern Passage, NS, Breanna Kendell (Spencer Chicquen) of Timmins, ON, great-grandchildren; Jelle, Anna and Esther Leenstra of Boundary Creek, NB, Violet Keeping of Eastern Passage, NS. Violet also leaves behind her brother; Nathan Walters (Ida Chaffey) of Jeffreys, NL, sister; Betty Keeping of Burnt Islands, NL, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24th from 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. There will be a private graveside service Saturday morning at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Violet.
