Violet Bird 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Violet G Bird. Vi left us peacefully to be with her Lord in the early hours of Sunday, September 4, 2022 in her 92nd year.
Vi is survived by her loving husband, Jim Bird. They missed their 68th wedding anniversary by just 4 days. He will miss her terribly.
She is also survived by her daughter, Nancy Whidden (Tony) of Goderich. As well as 3 Grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah and Marjorie and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Olivia, Logan, Abigail and Carter.
She was predeceased by her son, David James Bird, in 1979 after a brief battle with leukemia.
In her younger years, Vi was an active member of the Order of Easter Star, and helped out with the Canadian Red Cross. She loved to camp and canoe in the summers with family and friends. After retirement, she enjoyed spending winters with Jim in sunny Florida. In recent years, she loved to watch her bird feeders, watch her TV, and chat with whoever happened to be around.
A small service will be held at W. G. Young Funeral Home on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a light reception.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church Stratford, or to the Salvation Army through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
