Obituary
Viola Rebecca Allan (nee Marchand) passed away on January 11, 2022. It was a peaceful event following an extended period of being confined to bed. She will join her son, Austin Thomas Allan, deceased March 2013. She leaves behind to mourn her loving husband of almost 68 years, Howard Austin Allan of Owen Sound. She is survived by her daughter Julie and husband Greg Wilson. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Matthew Wilson, Lindsay Yearley and Katharine Allan (daughter of Austin and Mary Ellen). Viola was able to spend some precious moments with her great granddaughter, Rebecca Alice Yearley. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews who sampled her delicious cooking and even better baking and sometimes benefited from her wise advice. She says her final “With Love, Vi” to her Pen Pal of over 60 years in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sheila Reilly.
A private family funeral service for Viola will be held and live streamed on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 11:00am from the Tannahill Funeral Home, Owen Sound. Family and friends wishing to view the service may do so on facebook @BrownFamilyFH or in the service details below.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
