Vilma Galap

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vilma Galap at the age of 51 on December 20, 2022. She was a devoted mother to Krizza, Keana and Alexander and a beloved partner to Ted. She will be greatly missed by her parents Alex and Rosita and her siblings Myrna, Wayne, Ruth, Mac, Doy and Alexis. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other extended families. She loved and worked hard for her family and not a day will go by that we will not think of her. She cherished the time she spent with her friends many of whom she considered as family who were there for her during her happiest and most difficult times. Vilma will also be remembered as a dedicated nurse for over 20 years. She loved being a nurse and loved taking care of her residents as well as the time she spent with her work family.
We will all remember her for her smile, laughter, work ethic and unwavering strength.
Her family thank those who took the time to see her in person or via video calls to say goodbye and those who left messages for her before her passing. She was surrounded by love and prayers and for that we are grateful. Special thanks to the hardworking doctors, nurses and staff of Juravinksi Cancer Centre, Juravinksi Hospital and St. Joseph Healthcare Hamilton for the care they provided for Vilma. Without you, the last 8 years we spent with her would not have been possible.
Arrangements entrusted with Bay Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at Bay Gardens 947 Rymal Road, Hamilton, on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral mass will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church 50 Brucedale Ave E, Hamilton, on Friday December 30, 2022, starting at 11am. Burial will follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
