Victor Eugene Barwell
1943-2022
The passing of Victor Eugene Barwell, husband of Linda
(Hanley) Barwell of Back Bay NB occurred at the Saint John Regional
Hospital, Saint John NB on March 14, 2022. Born in Saint John NB on
June 15, 1943, he was a son of the late Samuel and Jean (Donner)
Barwell. A loving husband, brother and friend, in addition to his wife
Linda, Victor is survived by his brothers: Bob (Brenda) Barwell of
Ontario, Alan Barwell and Dean Barwell both of Saint John NB; his
sisters: Beverley Barwell of Saint John NB, Diane Douthwick of Ontario
and Twylla Barwell of Saint John NB; a large extended in-law family;
and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents,
Victor was predeceased by one daughter in infancy; two brothers: Larry
and Charles; and by one sister: Ruth.
Prior to retirement, Victor worked for Connors Brothers in
Blacks Harbour for several years. He was a social man who enjoyed
striking up a conversation with everyone he met. He loved taking walks
and was known to collect items like model cars and other knick-knacks.
In his quiet time, Victor could often be found with markers and a
colouring book in his hand. He was a member of the Back Bay Church of
Christ and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Sea View
Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and
6-8 pm. The service will be held from the church on Wednesday at 2:00
pm with Rev. Conrad Cline and Rev. Randy Crozier officiating. The
interment will take place in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the
spring. In Victor’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated by the family.
