Obituary of Vernon Dunphy
With great sadness we announce the passing of Arthur “Vernon” Dunphy, husband of the late Velma Grace (Robinson) Dunphy of Boiestown, NB, on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. Born on December 20, 1933 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Otto and Dora (Foreman) Dunphy. Vernon was an industrial teacher at Upper Miramichi Regional High School, member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, original board member of the Central New Brunswick Woodmen’s Museum.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Roxanne Creelman (Paul) of Beaver Bank, NS; son, Greg Dunphy (Colleen) of Parker’s Ridge; grandchildren, Derek (Lauryn) and Julie Dunphy, Abbey (Jeff Cody) and Shawn (Hilary) Creelman; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Angus, and a soon to be baby girl; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Vernon was predeceased by his sister, Ina Dassett; brothers, Walter Dunphy, Marvin Dunphy and Floyd Dunphy.
Vernon’s final message to family and friends, “Shed no tears, I’ve had a wonderful life”.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. At the family’s request, there will be no public services at this time. A Celebration of Vernon’s Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of the Central NB Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided Vernon. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Central NB Woodmen’s Museum, Central NB Nursing Home or a charity of the donor’s choice.
